Wedgefield NHW is strictly watch and report. No pursuit, No patrol, No confrontation, JUST WATCH and REPORT. During the month of OCTOBER to the present date of NOVEMBER 11, 2024 we have no property crimes based on Orange County Sheriff’s website because it is still not reporting crime statistics. Based on reports of CALLS FOR SERVICE as reported by the SPOTCRIME email we have had a number of incidents. 1 report of an Auto burglary on Knight Tail Lane in the Gated Community; 2 Assaults one on Mansfield and one on Majestic; 1 DUI arrest on Bagdad; and lastly the discharge of a firearm on MAJESTIC. As you can see despite the Sheriff not reporting these we are still experiencing our share of reported incidents. I am happy to see that calls are being made to the Sheriff but I wish calls would be made to me as well so I can share additional information with the community. Again, if I do not get the calls after the incidents are reported to OCSO we will have no information of where in Wedgefield (since most of our streets are in 3 separate locations), or what transpired which would help in precluding a repeat of a like incident. Please take the time to make the second call. Just a reminder that when calls are made to the non-emergency number listed below and when asked if you want to file a police report you will press 1 and you will then talk with a live person. That person will ask several questions regarding your call. One will be the address and with that you need to give the cross street because most streets are divided into 3 parts of Wedgefield. Please be patient and answer the questions so that the responding Deputy has the most accurate information about what he will be confronting. AGAIN SPECIAL THANKS to Denise Grage our NHW Coordinator for keeping our NHW Facebook page neighborly.
